Welcome to the Depoe Bay Fire District

My name is Tom Jackson. It is an honor to serve as your Fire Chief and to lead our dedicated team of firefighters, paramedics, volunteers, and support staff who work tirelessly to protect and serve our community.

The Depoe Bay Fire District spans approximately 18 square miles along the stunning Central Oregon Coast. We serve the City of Depoe Bay and surrounding unincorporated areas, with a year-round population of about 5,500. During the busy summer months, our population can more than triple, as visitors flock to our area for its natural beauty, whale watching, and outdoor recreation.

This dynamic environment presents both challenges and opportunities. We are proud to meet them with professionalism, preparedness, and compassion.

Our Mission is “To protect life, property, and the environment through emergency response, prevention, and education."

We are an “all-hazards” fire district, comprised of both career personnel and dedicated volunteers. Together, we provide:

In addition to emergency response, we are proud to offer a variety of community risk reduction and preparedness programs, including:

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training
Wildfire Defensible Space Assessments for local homes and properties
Reflective Address Sign Program to improve emergency response times
Emergency Preparedness Education for residents, families, and neighborhoods
