The Depoe Bay Fire District is utilizing a citizen notification service that will deliver important and timely emergency and general information to the districts residents using the latest technology available.
What is Nixle?
The notification service, NIXLE, will alert residents to emergency weather events, road closings, public safety advisories, natural and manmade disasters, and general city information through email and/or text messaging*.
How Do I Sign Up?
NIXLE is free and is easy to register for through http://www.nixle.com/register. Those who wish to register will need to create an account with a user name and password, enter an email address and/or cell phone number where you would like to receive the messages and click the “Sign Me Up” button to complete the registration. Then enter your address or closest cross-street and choose where you want to receive your information, whether by text over your mobile device* or e-mail. Add as many locations as you would like at no additional cost, you can even use it to keep up to date on this information for other cities you may have family or friends.
Currently, residents who register for the DBFD wire will receive alerts for weather events, road closing, public safety alerts and advisories and community information.
