Depoe Bay Fire Chief Bill Johnson reports on recent District activity, including grants and an upcoming ballot measure. The 5-year optional levy that currently provides funding for 6 firefighters will expire in fiscal year 2019/2020, and Depoe Bay Fire District is asking for voter approval of a new 5-year optional levy which would begin in 2020/2021. This levy would provide funding for up to four professional Firefighters/EMTs per shift so that we can continue to respond to medical, fire, and other emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
