Note: This will be the final update from the incident management team.

The Oregon Department of Forestry’s Incident Management Team, led by Incident Commander Charlie Redheffer, will hand the fire over to a smaller Type 4 organization on Sunday. The Team would like to thank the Depoe Bay, Gleneden Beach, and Lincoln County communities for their kind hospitality and support during its stay.

Fire crews will continue Saturday to mop-up and grid for hot spots inside of the containment line. Several crews will be leaving to go support other fires.

East winds have subsided, and we are currently experiencing an on-shore flow. Predicted weather calls for high humidity, clouds, and average temperatures.

The incident management team will be leaving Sunday, and Fogarty Creek State Recreation Area will reopen soon. Contact the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department at 541-563-8500 for more information.

Residents of the wildland-urban interface, where communities border forests, should always be prepared before fire threatens communities. Have a plan that includes making arrangements for persons with special needs, livestock, and pets. Learn more about the Ready Set Go Program at http://wildlandfirersg.org/.
