Firefighters respond to fire at Salishan Resort

This morning shortly before 1 am Depoe Bay Fire District units responded to the Salishan Resort for a smoke investigation. Upon arrival units found smoke showing from the laundry building.

Further, investigation a fire was located in 2 of the commercial dryers. The fire was being contained by automatic fire sprinklers. Crews deployed hose lines and finished extinguishing the fire and checked for fire extension. The sprinklers performed well in that it kept the fire confined until firefighters could arrive on scene. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes crews remained on scene until about 230 am investigating and insuring there was no extension.

Damage was confined to the laundry room with the dryers receiving the majority of the damage.

While crews were working this emergency a second emergency call was received and mutual aid was requested from North Lincoln Fire Rescue for this second emergency.
